Hello, I love this game, everything about it is a love letter to Mario party, and is great! I love how you can import custom characters as well! That is sick! I was wondering if you could add an online mode though,
Game: When viewing the map on keyboard, the "Check path" line isn't centered.
Game: When checking the description of a space, thin black bars are visible near the corners of the text box.
Game: Pausing the game on the exact frame a CPU player closes a textbox causes a softlock.
Game: When a player's rank changes from an Unlucky event, the rank up and rank down sprites may show on a player simultaneously.
Game: After a battle minigame ends, the rank indicators on the board are wrong until the next player's turn starts.
Item: Zap Hex's effect sometimes plays when it shouldn't. (Example: If you put a Zap Hex on the first space of Castaway Bay, and another player loops back to the start with zero coins, the effect plays when passing over that space AND the following space)
Picture Match: There's a very rare chance that the AI will fail to pick up a piece, leaving it stuck for the rest of the game.
Color Correction: Snooze's run animation only shows a single frame.
Oh, and since everyone can be the same character now, Face Flip needs to be updated to show the player of the card flipped.
Hi there. so i was trying to play with friends via parsec but didn't have my controller on me and every time i tried to connect on keyboard it wouldn't connect and if i was trying to host, other controllers from friends would be detected as player one. meaning i couldn't connect via keyboard. is there any way you can fix this. thank you
one. If your not the host, you must go and get permisson to use the keybored. two: on v0.95 or later, go to keybind settings and get it to the amount of players playing the game plus do keybines there.
This is an amazing game, streamlining the Mario Party formula enough that I can actually play a full game with my tiny attention span! A feature I'd love to see added is a minigame toggle for timing-based minigames for playing over Parsec, as the "reaction time" toggle doesn't include all of them. I haven't played all the minigames but the UFO Photo minigame, the golfing minigame, the rhythm balancing minigame, and more are pretty unfair over parsec, which sucks bc most of this game works great over parsec
This is due to the diffculty inconsistency between some of them. I definitely get you on ‘Balancing Act’, but then there’s ‘Timing is Money’ which doesn’t require the same amount of precision. The definition is also really broad. Would Daisy Chain be included in the toggle since moving too soon would make you miss one?
Make a list of them for reference and I’ll consider adding it! In the meantime, use the Custom Minigame setting to remove those minigames from the rotation.
The UFO minigame still appearing though is probably a bug with a previous build not resetting games properly, are you on v95.21?
I never specifically tested the UFO minigame so I didn't know that it was removed with that mode, but I'd consider games like daisy chain and even cloud climb (is that what it's called?) to be parsec-friendly since you have a decent amount of time to see what your next input(s) is, and it's pretty easy to adjust for the delay. it's moreso minigames that are "press the button at the right time" than "press the right button"
Might sound like an unpopular suggestion for Party Project, but can there please be options for coin rewards on minigame results? I played this game with my friends, and while they enjoyed it, something they wished for was the option to make the results reward 2nd and 3rd with 3 coins and 2 coins respectively, like in Superstars. Superstars did have a good coin system imo, so it'd be great if Party Project can have the option to switch between the current default coin rewards, or the Superstars coin rewards.
I want to play this game so bad but I cant because each time I add a controller it adds a "Virtual Multitouch Device" as well as another player so I can't play with friends!!! If this is a problem on my end could you please tell me what to do? Maybe you could add the ability to remove controllers instead of just players. this game sucks. the ai cheats ON NORMAL, the timed minigames have 0.0000001 secs before i lose, AND, THERES NO REMAPPING CONTROLS (unless i couldnt find it cus the UI IS CONFUSING) so IM NEVER PLAYING AGAIN (unless you make an update that fixes these issues)
I find this game to be of poor quality. The artificial intelligence cheats even on the normal difficulty setting. Additionally, the timed minigames have an extremely short time limit before I inevitably lose. On top of this, the game lacks the feature to remap controls, unless it is hidden and difficult to find due to a confusing user interface. Consequently, I have decided to no longer play this game, unless you release an update that addresses these problematic issues.
I've found a very funny feature. my headphones have a pause button and when i pause it the board music just stops and the dice block sound is the only thing playing...

Here are some ideas I have for new items and custom settings. I don't expect you to include everything listed here, I just think these additions would be pretty neat.
Hidden Items: When enabled, items will appear in Hidden Blocks.
Shopping Star: Awarded for purchasing the most items. Item/Grab Bag counts as 1 item.
Warp Hex (Roadblock): Passerby will swap places with the owner. They continue their roll after swapping. (Price: 10 coins)
Ghost Hex (Trap): Players who land on this must give the owner 1 Star. (Price: 30 coins)
Koopa Kard: Take all of the coins saved up in the bank by passing it with this item. (Rare Item)
Chance Phone: Force yourself or another player to do Chance Time. (Rare Item)
Minimum Bank Deposit: The minimum amount of coins players need to deposit into the bank.
Last 5 Turns Event:
- OFF: The player currently in last place will not stop a roulette. The host will simply announce that the values of Blue and Red Spaces are tripled and that landing on the same space as another player will start a duel.
Why is Custom Shroom only 1-5 when most Mario Party games that have this item (e.g. Sluggish Shroom or Custom Dice) are 1-10? It's not like it would be any more OP than the Triple Dice or Plus 10 Card.
It used to be 1-10 but it became overcentralizing due to the double dip. Comboing it with the double dip and triple dice allowed you to roll triple 7’s on a whim for a free 100 coins.
It also generally made it super easy to get stuff like chance time whenever you were in a pinch.
I'm not gonna lie, I didn't even know that it worked that way. XD
Well in that case, why not just make it so you can't get coins by using Double/Triple Dice and Custom Dice at the same time?
Also given that one of the events that can occur during the last five turns is turning all Red Spaces into Chance Time Spaces, I don't think making it easier to get Chance Time should be an issue.
I allow it to keep things consistent, similarly to how you can still get a Shadow Star from a Hidden Block Card if ‘Hidden Shadow Stars’ are on. Making an exception would also clutter the Double Dip’s description, since I’d want to explain that its not possible. Don’t plan on changing it
So on the Kitchen stage, it's possible for the one of the items the Chef asks to be an item that's turned off from the item toggle. For instance, after I gave him a Double Dice, the new item he wanted was a Mega Mushroom, despite the fact that I had Mega Mushrooms turned off. This seems like an oversight.
Otherwise, I think this board is greatly improved on, having a much better layout than before.
so... this might seem kinda strange, but i've been having weird experiences with CPUs rolling the 1-6 die on eternal star and goomba's greedy gala. they seem to always hit the dice block at around the same time, and always roll a 1 or a 2, unless i happen to manually pause the game, in which case they seem to get a number at random. this might be some extreme coincidence, but i've had 30 turn games on both boards, and CPUs never seem to get anything other than a 1 or a 2.
A NORMAL CPU won the lottery on Goomba's Greedy Gala, and just a suggestion for the same board; in the original, there was 4 spots on the roulette that would give you 20 coins, and then you chose where to go. Could you add this feature, Char?
I found two instances of the game softlocking itself that should be looked at and fixed.
- If you have status effect overriding off and a CPU decides to use an item on another CPU (i.e. Poison Shroom or Reverse Shroom), for some reason the CPU with the item effect will just stand there and do nothing, never rolling their die.
- On Clockwork Castle, it's possible for the Star to move to the starting area and just stay there, never ending the turn.
Bummer but I've been loving how quick and fun the game is. If I'm able to in game manually choose CPUs and players than I bet that would fix that but I get that's a lot of technical work behind the scenes.
Keep the grind going! Loving this game! Would love to eventually see this game on Steam but totally get if that's not in the cards.
In Slap Down, if one player gets eliminated (by pressing the button too early) but no one else presses the button when the correct flower shows up, the eliminated player wins.
Again, not sure if this is a bug or not. You also might want to test with multiple players since I can only test one way (by setting everyone to P1 using keyboard controls)
A bug report: i was playing a team match and my teammate was trying to duel me using the duel swords. the game simply wouldn't let him but he kept trying, had to reload the turn and use it for him

Seeing that you watch these comments, i want to say the one thing i rlly love this game is being able to customize your game a lot, so i am here to bring 2 ideas for settings if you are willing to do it.
Dice Rolls: Change your dice rolls like from 1-6 or 1-20 or even like 5-10.
Handicaps: you know these from mario party, but other than changing the starts, it could also be coins and perhaps items.
okay quick bug report: i was playing on koopa's tycoon town and items were used and uhhhh yeah that's not right
the hud got messed up, instead of the sign(s) for being attacked with an item being attached to the character(s) effected, they... i don't know how to explain this- they just kinda hang out in midair?
with the "Default" layout, Y is accept/jump, and A is back/action
with the "JP" layout, B is accept/jump, and Y is back/action
and with the "US" layout, Y is accept/jump and B is back/action
if youuu actually need the controller itself i'm fine with helping with testing (my discord is "min_is_mini")
anyways uhhh update about my thoughts, yeah it still holds up for me i still love this, even made a few mods for the game using sxips's tutorial and WOW this game's style is so fun to replicate for me- i love making these,,,
(yes i'm obviously aware that there's already a kirby mod for the game- i just wanted to make one myself so there could be a mod for them that was actually in the style of the game instead of just using the kssu sprite, plus kirby is one of my favorite characters of all time)
OH THEY ACTUALLY DID MAKE ONE NICE i thought there wasn't since i asked if i could make one and didn't get a response but didn't feel like looking it up-
coming by to report a couple of softlocks i encountered:
1. on the Toad's Midway Madness board, an ai player was forced onto my space by the happening space that pushes the players on the road to a certain point on the board. since it was in the last five turns, this caused the game to try and start a duel minigame between me and the ai, however the ai literally had nothing. no stars, no coins, nothing. so the duel couldn't be initiated. for some reason, this sequence of events caused the game to just kinda stop progressing. i had to reload the turn in order to fix it, but it turns out this wasn't a one time bug because to my surprise it happened again immediately after reloading the turn! thankfully i reloaded the turn again and the sequence of events listed above didn't happen, allowing the game to progress.
2. on the Bowser's Pinball Machine board, an ai player used the Shop Call item and...just kinda sat there when asked to buy something. it literally just didn't do anything. unlike the last softlock, i have no idea why this happened, but thankfully all i had to do was reload the turn, and thankfully he decided not to even use the Shop Call that turn.
great game btw! can be really fun, even by yourself!
The duel issue I found out about recently so I got that, not sure what caused the Cellular Shopper bug though. Do you remember what the player BEFORE the one using the item did?

it's been a minute since that round, so i my memory might be a bit foggy about the Cellular Shopper bug. the previous turn that happened, that same AI actually ended up obtaining the Cellular Shopper item. i don't remember exactly which space on the board but from memory, they were somewhere near the top left portion of the board. something interesting as well, the ai fixed itself when reloading the turn, not by actually using the item the way it's supposed to be used, but rather by waiting a whole turn later to use it instead. so maybe it was some sort of ai mix-up that caused the ai to change its mind midaction? i don't know, the bug is weird.

You can remap the controls and it's literally at the top right of the main menu. I don't get the UI confusion when the UI is literally minimal.

This will happen if you reload a turn while viewing the map. The scoops are related to another thing I changed in the last update.
Both will be fixed soon.

This happens a lot on lower difficulties due to how they were revamped. I’ll add more randomization in the next update.
Kind of funny this game does not have 1v3, then the only main type of mini-game gone in the home console series is 2v2.
Then again, 1v3 might be hard to get right and maybe hard to code? :/

I found a bug. If you tried to use the hex space item while at the start, it’ll softlock, forcing you to reload turn.

can you turn off the bots from somewhere?
The only way to do so is to have other players join on automatically, I think.
You can't make it a 2/3 player game.

I'm playing on Steam Deck and when I play single player it doesn't allow me to set the other players as CPUs. Any solutions?
Unless there’s a way to stop the Deck from adding controllers internally, not at the moment.
A friend who has a Steam Deck only has that issue when its docked, so I don’t know what’s causing it.

OH THEY ACTUALLY DID MAKE ONE NICE i thought there wasn't since i asked if i could make one and didn't get a response but didn't feel like looking it up-
Nothing works when i try to input the controls it just goes grey and i cant do anything
coming by to report a couple of softlocks i encountered:
1. on the Toad's Midway Madness board, an ai player was forced onto my space by the happening space that pushes the players on the road to a certain point on the board. since it was in the last five turns, this caused the game to try and start a duel minigame between me and the ai, however the ai literally had nothing. no stars, no coins, nothing. so the duel couldn't be initiated. for some reason, this sequence of events caused the game to just kinda stop progressing. i had to reload the turn in order to fix it, but it turns out this wasn't a one time bug because to my surprise it happened again immediately after reloading the turn! thankfully i reloaded the turn again and the sequence of events listed above didn't happen, allowing the game to progress.
2. on the Bowser's Pinball Machine board, an ai player used the Shop Call item and...just kinda sat there when asked to buy something. it literally just didn't do anything. unlike the last softlock, i have no idea why this happened, but thankfully all i had to do was reload the turn, and thankfully he decided not to even use the Shop Call that turn.

The duel issue I found out about recently so I got that, not sure what caused the Cellular Shopper bug though. Do you remember what the player BEFORE the one using the item did?

it's been a minute since that round, so i my memory might be a bit foggy about the Cellular Shopper bug. the previous turn that happened, that same AI actually ended up obtaining the Cellular Shopper item. i don't remember exactly which space on the board but from memory, they were somewhere near the top left portion of the board.
something interesting as well, the ai fixed itself when reloading the turn, not by actually using the item the way it's supposed to be used, but rather by waiting a whole turn later to use it instead. so maybe it was some sort of ai mix-up that caused the ai to change its mind midaction? i don't know, the bug is weird.
