[ v0.98.x ] A Little of Everything 5... and a guest??
This update primarily brings balance patches and changes to a lot of existing boards and minigames as well as the usual bugfixes. There are a few new minigames and items and some menus were made more convenient to navigate.
There’s also a new board and character as part of a collaboration with Ambystoman! We hope you enjoy them!

BOARD
Changes:
- Whomp’s Domino Ruins: Whomps now block 2 junctions
- Coin Charity: Percentage taken away scales by placement
1st: 60%
2nd: 30%
3rd/4th: 15%
Amount lost can no longer be greater than 150 coins
- Eternal Star / Battle Canyon:
Once a star spawn is used it’ll turn into Chance Time

Fallen Stars: More will appear at a time
Yureiling star trade increased to 60 coins
Tree event revamped
Yurei now gives players a Ghost Bell regardless of whether players have a star or not
- Battles will no longer occur if the current coin economy is less than 20
- Pinball Machine: Top left happenings now send players to one of the two red rings on the board
- Unlucky Spaces renamed to Judge Spaces
- Lucky Spaces removed across all boards in favor of Judge Spaces
- Rubberband Item RNG: Now calculated by star differential from 1st or 4th
Free Items: Odds of better items increases depending on how far behind the player is
Item Shops: Item selection gets limited depending on how far ahead the player is
- Reversing on start space now forces players to move forward as normal
- Chance Time: Roulettes for classic mode made slightly more aggressive
Fixes:
- Vern’s Dreamland:
Fixed bug where some spaces on rainbow ring wouldn’t point the correct way after changing space type
Fixed bug where camera would stay stuck if player chose themself during a vernidee event and got sent back to start
- Toad’s Midway Madness: Fixed key gate softlocking the player when unlocked
- Puffy Paradise: Fixed bug where players would get incorrect value from star or coin steals in Queen’s event if it was previously activated
- Eternal Star: Fixed happening spaces sending players to the wrong space
- Waluigi’s Island: Fixed hexes not being removed from randomized island when being set to anything other than a blue or red space
- Clockwork Castle: Initial star location is now properly randomized
- Fixed Battle Minigames not being removed from rotation when shown as options during vote or pick sequences
- Fixed certain rules getting disabled on gimmick boards even when gimmicks aren’t disabled
- Fixed player getting a second turn if they land on a Gambling Space after a previous player activates certain events
- Fixed rolling triples of numbers other than 7 not giving correct payout
- Fixed space distance counter not working on boards that reverse at night
- Fixed infinite loop that could happen when finding a hidden block while Hidden Blocks are OFF
ITEM
Changes:
- Grab Bag: Now only appears in rubberband item rng, specifically for 4th
- Rocket Rudy: Price decreased (20 > 15)
- Super Mega Shroom: Price decreased (15 > 10)
- Reverse Shroom: Price decreased (10 > 7)
- Mega Hammer: Price decreased (10 > 7)
- Chomp Call: Price decreased (10 > 7)
- Mega Shroom: Price decreased (7 > 5)
- Hexes: Placing a hex will give the user between 0-5 coins
- Podoboo Hex: Coin loss increased from 10 to 20
MINIGAME
Changes:
- Blizzard’s Brigade: Frozen player’s speed increased (0.2x > 0.25x)
- Speedy Teatime:
Cooldown increased (0.15s > 0.2s)
Direction no longer has to be held to take a cake
- Cone Catch: Jump height decreases faster with each scoop caught
- Fruit Factory: Only the player with the least amount of points loses
- Phantom Tag: Changed to Survival Challenge
- Balancing Act: Changed to Survival Challenge
- Hyper Sniper: Players can now move their cursor sooner
- Block Drop: Changed to a coin minigame
- Race to the Finish: Collectable coins placed around the course
- UFO Catcher: Renamed to Saucer Snap
- Root Rush: Fixed incorrect payouts when players tie for 1st
- Supermarket Sweep: Sweep button remapped
- Bill Blasters: Rotation speed loss from getting hit increased
- Let the Battles Begin!:
Final hit multiplier decreased (2x > 1.5x)
Attack command speed made slower
- Gamepad only minigames will no longer appear if at least 1 keyboard player is in the lobby
Currently only affects Trace Race
- Bomb Tag: Side platforms restored as moving platforms
Fixes:
- Iron Cannons: Fixed ability to go out of bounds when mashing movement buttons
- Dragster: Fixed ability to win by mashing during certain gears
- Fake Draw: Fixed ability to win by mashing the D-Pad
- Let the Battles Begin!: Fixed port priority issues when getting the final hit through Magic Burst
- Bill Blasters: Fixed draw result when more than one player survives and have different health remaining
ETC
- Fixed random pick on board select not properly setting gimmick status
- Minigame playlist can now be edited from Party Mode
- Input to toggle minigames has been simplified
- CPU difficulty system changed
- Character set for certain fonts extended
- Download version only:
Downloaded custom characters now only load images that it can find in the character’s directory
Downloaded Custom characters can now be given a victory theme
Fixed possibility of downloaded images not loading due to extra metadata in links or webp filetypes
Custom characters can now be added by dragging the json on the game window in the custom characters menu
Save file and custom character list is now written to install folder
- Item bags now give any item when they’re the only one left toggled ON
- ‘Toggle All’ key added to Item Toggles menu

- Fixed sound effects not being affected by volume slider
- Fixed jingles not being affected by volume slider

- Fixed block silhouettes being invisible in Race to the Finish

- Fixed CPUs choosing to duel for coins when they don’t have the minimum for a coin duel

- Fixed bug where multiple hidden block could appear on a single space
- Fixed bug where Game Guy’s Magic Boxes would add Hidden Block events to the final results graph
- Fixed bug where player could gamble without coins by using a Lucky Charm
- Fixed bug where the +5 Star Spawns event could appear on Eternal Star while its gimmick is on
- Fixed bug where Item Bag wouldn’t appear in shops while Item RNG is set to Frantic
- Fixed bug where only 4 star spaces would be left on EGadd’s Garage after a star is bought when the 5 active star spawns event is enabled
- Download Ver: Fixed possibility of being stuck on main menu if save file was corrupted by a custom character’s metadata
- Download Ver: Added ‘Open Folder’ button to custom character screen to make victory theme addition easier
