[ v0.5 ] Settings and Balance


This build focuses a lot on bugfixes and balance changes. Also a couple of cool settings added, primarily more bonus star settings!

Version number skipped from v0.42 to v0.5 to avoid confusion for those who downloaded preview builds.


ADDITIONS

  • Bonus star toggles added

    includes negative bonus stars

    Single-Cycle (MP6-7 Style)

  • Accept / Jump & Decline buttons can now be set to 1 of 3 layouts

  • Ending sequence added to bonus star reveals


BOARD

Changes:

  • Dueling Swords price decreased (10 > 5)
  • Chomp Call: Price decreased (15 > 10)
  • Custom Shroom: Price increased (10 > 15)
  • Lucky Spaces:

Outcome is now rubberbanded

Prizes changed (5>7>10>15>Star) > (5>10>15>20>Star)

  • Boo Repel no longer appears on boards without a Ghost space (Boo Bell will still be available)
  • Free item spaces no longer give out powerful items (rares / lamp / ghost bell / ghost repels)

Pattern changed

  • Confirmation textboxes added to item shops and item menus
  • Stick deadzone increased for menus on board
  • Duel spaces replaced with battle spaces
  • Bank deposit increased to 5

Fixes:

  • Creepy Cavern: Fixed bug where using the thwomp minecarts would send you to the wrong space
  • Starlight Sanctuary: Players now properly bounce off of blocked paths when reversed
  • Players can no longer walk through Whomps while reversed
  • Fixed dice sounds not updating with volume sliders
  • Fixed softlock where AI tries to selection OoB option on star dialogue when getting rid of a status effect
  • Added missing star spawns to woody woods

MINIGAME

Changes:

  • L/R no longer counts as input on minigames that don’t list them as controls
  • Dragster: Accelerating too soon now just gives a 0.35s late start instead of killing speed
  • Frisbee Toss: Score precision changed to only 1 decimal
  • Mochi Pound: Fail cooldown increased (0.5s > 1s)
  • Propeller Peril: Added invincibility frames
  • Picking Panic: Throwing angle adjusted
  • Laser Focus: Deceleration increased
  • Bomb Rally: Hit window increased (0.25s > 0.45s)

Fixes:

  • Fixed bug where getting a highscore on dragster would sometimes place sprite above incorrect score
  • Fixed issue where the font size of some textboxes would change

ETC

  • Minigame UI overhauled
